Maria Stewart is a Marriage & Family Therapist, licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She received her Master’s degree from Kansas State University studying Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy.

Her supervised practicum training included work in community and mental health centers as well as the Family Life Ministries and Training Center at Ft. Riley, Kansas.

Maria has experience working as a Victim Advocate, Substance Abuse Counselor and Family Advocacy Program Coordinator in military settings. She worked for the Virginia Wounded Warrior Program for over two years. In addition, she has worked in private practice for over ten years.

She has been married for over 30 years to a now retired service member, and has three grown daughters.

Maria has been a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage & Family Therapy since 1992.
